About me
This is me while drawing.:)
My name is Scarlet Necroshiver. Obviously it's just an artist name I created since I never want to reveal my real name in public, sorry. Just call me Scarlet, that's enough.;) I'm 17 (soon 18) years old and I have always loved drawing. As long as I can remember I was crazy about all kinds of art and I tried out everything new whenever I could. My friends and family liked my works and encouraged me to create more, but I never really got the chance to show my skills to the world since 2008 when I first joined deviantArt which is known as the largest worldwide artists' community. Soon I successfully earned some attention therefore I thought I should create my own site.
I know there are far better artists than me but I don't really care. I just love what I'm doing and I think this is what really matters. Though I frequently have serious and long artblocks when I can't even grab a pen and I think of quitting making art pieces, in the end it always turns out that I can't give up! :) This is going on since I can't remember when. Sometimes I'm tired of being not good enough for my own standards but still it doesn't stop me from wanting to become better and better with every picture I make or every prose I write.
Many people have asked me how can I make artworks like that. The answer is pretty simple: practice makes perfect. I started with copying other pictures and as time (a lot of time, so many years to be exact) passed by, I realized I don't really need to copy anymore, though I still use bases and a lot of references for difficult poses very often. On the other hand, I always need something that inspires me and it's usually music - I write stories which come to my mind after hearing some lyrics, or depict the thoughts that I think while listening to a song. I had never gone to an art school and nobody taught me how to draw or write. I figured out all techniques I use now by myself through several years.
I also love taking photos. I like to simply capture that little moments which make life beautiful and I like to keep my memories like that, but I'm also fond of more abstract themes.
My other great addiction is cosplaying. It literally means 'costume play', you know that's when you choose a fictional character and dress up like them. I truly believe cosplay also counts as art. I'm still a beginner at it, I started it about two years ago. I love making the costumes which involves a lot of creativity and once when the costume is done it's a feeling I can't really describe, something like being proud of myself but knowing that I still could do even better and it inspires me over and over again.
So as you can see from what I've written above, I'm that kind of person who does everything in their own way and I'm never quite satisfied with myself. I always know I can do better the next time. And it's true. I believe I can, even if I deny it.
